- The appearance is similar to that of Coturnix japonica, but it belongs to different family. Even though it may look big because of rounded structure, the actual size is slightly bigger than Passer montanus. It has black spots on dark-brown base color and does not form a flock. The bird can be observed near farms in relatively dry areas.
