Traveling exhibitions, “Seashells found in tidal flats and sea grass fields in Yaeyama”, are going to be hosted (only Japanese guides are available on-site).

Upon the release of “Guidelines for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity in Okinawa [Yaeyama Islands Edition, Preliminary]”, exhibits are organized for the purpose of introducing the publication. These exhibits include panel displays showing the outlines and ways of utilizing, applying and viewing the guidelines with panel displays. The guidelines were built on the foundation of a prior publication, “Guidelines for Environment Conservation,” that had been used for preservation and indicators for use of biodiversity in Okinawa. The first traveling exhibition will include approximately 1,000 seashell specimens collected in the Yaeyama area showing biodiversity in the area.
