Species Distribution
In Japan, Irabu, Iriomote, Ishigaki, Miyako and Okinawa Islands. Other distribution areas include Kalimantan Island, the Mergui Archipelago, and the Malay Peninsula.

This species is found under rocks and logs laying down around high tide water surface of mangrove forests. It has strong walking legs, and the longest leg is 2.5 to 3.0 times as long as the width of its carapace. Since it moves quickly, observing this species is not easy.
