- This species as well as Tellina virgata is a typical big species of the Tellinidae Family found in Nansei Islands. Although this species and T. rostrata have a similar appearance, T. perna is more rounded and symmetrical. This species can inhabit more coarse sands compared with habitat of T. rostrata.
