- It migrates to Okinawa in summer. Its breeding season starts the earliest in genus Sterna. Sterna albifrons lays two to three eggs in a hollow it makes in places such as beds of coral gravel on seashores or landfill areas along coasts. Coastal development throughout Okinawa Prefecture and land use for tourism are concerns that can largely impact on habitat areas.
